Have fun at the ice rink

The ice rink now delights kids and adults in Veliko Tarnovo

The “Veselie” ice rink, like every winter at this time, already delights young and old in Veliko Tarnovo. It is located in front of the “Vasil Levski” Palace of Culture and Sports in the old capital. The facility measures 350 square meters.

On the first day of its opening on Sunday, it was full of people. “During the day the children are at school, but in the evening it is full of people. Of all ages, there are even grandparents,” says Emil Peev, who serves the rink. As long as there are customers this coming winter, the rink will be open.

Prices and working hours:

The prices are BGN 8 for children and students up to 16 years of age, and BGN 10 for adults for an hour and a half. If those who want to skate do not have their own skates, they have a huge choice of renting them from the rink employees, the price being only BGN 2. Thus, an hour and a half of enjoyment costs those who wish a total of between BGN 10 and BGN 12. However, people also come with their own skates.

“In the skate wardrobe there are about 350 pairs from 25 to 46 numbers. During the week it is at its busiest after 5 p.m., and on Saturdays and Sundays after 12 p.m. The rink will remain open as long as there is interest in it, usually the most people come until mid-February. But we can work in March as well, as long as there are people who want to use it”, said the president of the company-owner of the rink, Pavlin Kostadinov.

The opening hours of the rink, which since 2006 has been located right in front of the Vasil Levski Palace of Culture and Sports, are from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. In February, the hosts will most likely organize a hockey tournament again, as was the case in recent years. The first tournament after a long break in V. Tarnovo was named “Winter Classic 2020”, as the organizers had invited all hockey friends regardless of team, age and skills. The rivals played each against each other, and in the end the winner was “Red Star”.
