The third national rock festival – Hotalich, will take over the fortress in late August. After being named “the new rock capital of Bulgaria”, the organizers of the national rock festival “Hotalich” in Sevlievo near Veliko Tarnovo are striving to surpass the high bar they have set themselves. The festival is one of the most significant events for the municipality and is already present in the Cultural Calendar for the year. In addition to favourite Bulgarian bands, there is also a solid international presence in the festival.
The rock event gathers hundreds of fans from across the country for the two-day show. With the holding of the festival, at the initiative of the Mayor of Sevlievo, the municipality launched a new rock tradition in Bulgaria. In addition to being an event to promote the Medieval City and the Hotalich Fortress, the festival is also a response to the desire of the Sevlievo people to develop and preserve rock culture. Fans have the opportunity to experience unforgettable moments with their favourite bands, enjoy quality music, meet friends and explore the fortress – one of the best preserved archaeological sites in our country.
In the first evening of the festival (30th August), fans will be able to enjoy the music of the local band Bazooka Giganta. They will warm-up for John Steel and the legendary David Reece from Accept and Bonfire. The musicians will delight the audience with their favourite hits and get the stage ready for Eridan. The highlight of the evening is the group Odd Crew.
Drun4fun will open Saturday festival day (31st August). Immediately afterwards, fans will hear Balkanji. The rock legend Milena will also appear on stage with her unforgettable hits. Then Konkurent will present some of their newest songs for the first time, and the evening will end with the Foundation and the eternal songs of Kiril Marichkov, Ivan Lechev, Doni, Slavcho Nikolov and Venko Poromanski.
With this unique selection of groups, the fun is guaranteed, and rock fans will be able to enjoy their favourite bands in an incredibly beautiful and magical place. The Municipality of Sevlievo has the ambition to accommodate rock fans, making the national rock festival Hotalich near Veliko Tarnovo a tradition and one of the major rock events in the country.
