This Saturday (20.07), the Tsarevets fortress in Veliko Tarnovo will become a natural setting for the opera “Turandot” by Giacomo Puccini. The spectacle of the State Opera – Burgas is part of the Stage of the Ages festival and starts at 21:00.
Five more impressive titles are featured in the 2019 Stage of the Ages festival. On the open stage of Tsarevets on July 26, the Konstantin Kisimov Musical and Drama Theater will present the operetta “The Violet of Montmartre” by Imre Kalman. On August 3, the State Opera-Rousse will host the La Boheme Opera. On August 10, “Simon Boccanegra” will be played by the Theater and Music Production Center – Varna. On 30 August the symphonic concert of the Rousse Philharmonic, dedicated to 120 years since the birth of Pancho Vladigerov will be held. The final of the season will be on October 3 with an opera in the Circus – “Pagliacci” by Ruggero Leoncavallo. The production is by the State Opera – Stara Zagora and Balkanski Academic Circus. It will be held at the Circus playground in Kolio Ficheto district.
The IV Summer season of “The Stage of the Ages” is organized by the municipality of Veliko Tarnovo and is under the patronage of the Minister of Culture Boil Banov. The event is the winner of the prestigious label “Europe for the festivals. Festivals for Europe“2019-2020 and is included in the platform of the European Festival Association. As a special gift for the audience after each show the audio-visual performance “Tsaregrad Turnov – sound and light” will be shown.
