In the summer of last year, the Municipality announced that a new project for a park space with areas for sports activities, temporary attractions, parking and a place for free walking of pets has been prepared for the territory of the circus site. Due to the lack of funding under European programs, the mayor’s office has launched a procedure for the gradual construction of the site with its own funds. The first stage includes the construction of an asphalt pump-track, and the track must be designed to offer fun and at the same time safe sports activities for people of all ages and with different skill levels.

Introduction of an electronic system for ticket sales and control of access to museum sites should start working this year. The innovation is a part of the business plan of the municipal tourist association “Tsarevgrad Tarnov”. The actual development and synchronization with the electronic system of the Regional History Museum is forthcoming. The idea is to make it as easy as possible for tourists, thus preventing queues in front of the larger museums.
Initially, three devices will be installed to access the most visited sites. Turnstiles will be installed at the entrance of Tsarevets , the church “St. 40 Martyrs ” and the Multimedia Visitor Center.
Citizens can now make proposals which roads in the Veliko Tarnovo district to be repaired in 2022
For the Veliko Tarnovo district this year repairs are planned for about 150 km, which are a part from the national road network. They will be included in the new program of the regional ministry for 2022. Complete repairs will be made on the main road I-4 in the part Sevlievo – Veliko Tarnovo to the town of Omurtag in Targovishte region, or it is about 72 km. The 3 km road section, which starts from the Yantra Hotel in Veliko Tarnovo and reaches the Dervent area, will also be rehabilitated. Repairs are also planned for the third-class road from the village of Koevtsi to Suhindol with a length of 10 km, as well as 50 km from the road Veliko Tarnovo to the border with Ruse district.
The main street Vasil Levski Str. in Veliko Tarnovo was open for traffic yesterday. Although the municipality announced last Friday that it was extending the repair work period on the main street until the end of January, the contractor eventually managed to complete the work. With the opening of the street, the teams will continue the excavation activities and the replacement of the pipes in the section in front of the Court House, which requires the closure of the northern lane. The traffic through the crossroads will be carried out in both directions along the southern lane.
The fee for household waste in the municipality of Veliko Tarnovo is increased from 1.2 to 1.7 per mille on the tax assessment of the property from 2022. The proposal of the administration was adopted at a meeting of the Municipal Council yesterday.
There will be a relief for households that introduce separate waste collection. The rates in the region have not changed for 10 years, but in the meantime the amount of the minimum wage has increased at least three times, and for the next year higher costs are expected in connection with the increase in electricity, fuel and water, which requires an increase in the garbage fee as well.
