Three-dimensional art canvas recreates a legend from Tarnovo

Veliko Тarnovo artists created a tunnel to the secret treasures of Tsarevets. However, Nevena Lefterova, Evgenia Lefterova and Nina Kovacheva from GIART did not dig with shovels in Tsar Asen I Square, but created a mobile three-dimensional mural that blends with the environment and is part of street art. The attraction is a light tease to the residents and guests of the city. The canvas is not yet finished, but the three artists hope to be satisfied with the final result.

They were inspired by the legend, according to which there is a treasure under Tsarevets and decided to depict it in this way, to direct it to the history of the city. The work of the talented ladies from Veliko Tarnovo is part of the large-scale festival “Varusha South”, which begins on Friday precisely with the opening of the 3D canvas.

Varusha South

It creates a feeling that the entrance to the secret tunnel is located in the square. He is guarded by a skull warrior with an ax and a sword, and huge rats crawl on slats above his head.

The artists use 3D street art because it is attractive enough in itself. People become participants, step on the image itself, take photos as a memory. The 3D art is just now starting to gain popularity in Bulgaria, although the girls have been working diligently in this direction for the past 6 years.

The three artists work together in three-dimensional street art, they have studios in the old capital. They also tour Europe, from where they bring this type of art to Bulgaria. They make cartoons, paintings, portraits.

All three are convinced that art will defeat vulgarity, because the Bulgarian is waking up to culture in recent years. They all hope there is a great renaissance in this direction and through the very festival that will happen. Many activities are included. And for the first time in the city there will be something so big. This is an outstanding chance for all local artists and small business people who will be able to advertise themselves.

The books are both brand new and donated by volunteers and can be ordered on the association’s Facebook page. Fusion Fest

This weekend Veliko Tarnovo welcomes lovers of fusion music

Fusion Fest will be held in Veliko Tarnovo this weekend. On July 29 and 30, Friday and Saturday from 8:30 p.m., two groups will perform on the Art Summer stage next to the Asenevtsi monument.

On Friday, “Del Padre”, a Bulgarian flamenco/world/fusion band, will take care of the good mood of the audience. The group was founded in 2009 by Hristo Kolikov – “Padre”, together with the guitarists Tsvetan Andreev and Simeon Ivanov, under the name “Rumba Aficionado”. In the process of searching and building their own original sound, Zivko Vasilev – kaval, Orlin Tsvetanov – violin, Deyan Iliev – drums and Dimitar Sirakov – bass, joined the band’s main composition. In 2012, they changed their name to “Del Padre”. An important push for “Del Padre” to assert their unique signature in mixing flamenco rhythms with Bulgarian folk motives was given by Neshka Robeva, who assigned the group the musical arrangement of the performance “Carmen from The faculty”.

The group’s musical style is influenced by Spanish-language music – Spanish traditional flamenco, music from Cuba and Latin America, as well as folk and ethnic elements from around the world.

God Rock
“God Rock”

On July 30, Saturday at 8:30 p.m., the irresistible Philip Avramov, Kalin Velov and friends will present the project “God Rock”. Philip can sing and dance amazingly. Here, however, in addition to the guitar, he will also play the harmonica, and if that’s not enough for you, prepare yourself for a lot of laughter as Philip tells you about the roots of…”Devil’s Music”. In fact, it is music that is the main actor. The one that was “forbidden” from the 60s and 70s and just like the “forbidden fruit” is becoming more and more sought after and listened to! A rebellious mood provoked by the music of Muddy Waters, Nirvana, Joe Cocker, Whitesnakes, James Brown and many more rock and blues idols.

The Fusion Fest is realized with the financial support of the Municipality of Veliko Tarnovo under the program “Art and culture” and admission to both events is free.
