Veliko Tarnovo has a new place for fresh food and drinks – Porto Fresh

Delicious beagles, sandwiches, salads, healthy desserts, fresh juices and smoothies are just a small part of the Porto Fresh assortment – the newest place for fresh foods and drinks in Veliko Tarnovo.

The official opening of the place was on Saturday at 14.10 am. What distinguishes Porto Fresh from the other fast food places is that it offers a wide variety of healthy foods, drinks and desserts, relying on pure products and high quality. Each of them is personally selected, and many of the products are from local manufacturers to ensure the shortest route to customers to make them as fresh as possible.

The New Veliko Tarnovo Centre could include 15-story buildings with hanging gardens, underground parking and futuristic congress center

The Italian architect Claudio Nordi received the first award in the international competition for a new Veliko Tarnovo centre. His development was awarded 25,000 euros. It provides 15-story buildings with gardens between floors, a 6,000-square-meter congress centre, underground parking, a modern library and several museums.

An international jury, which was led by Prof. Arch. Georgi Stanishev reviewed 62 works that competed in the contest just for a day and a half. All projects will be made available to the public for feedback.

Watermelon Festival near Veliko Tarnovo– eating contest, body art, bowling and more

The 7th emblematic for the summer season – Watermelon Festival, which is traditionally held in the village of Nikyup near Veliko Tarnovo, is coming. The Watermelon Festival will take place on August 4.

Every year guests from all over the country come here. The festival is accompanied by a lot of music and dancing people. Every year, guests have the opportunity to enjoy an exhibition of local and visiting watermelon producers, a procession with watermelon lanterns, carving demonstrations and so on. The organizers also plan to have a watermelon eating contest and many other surprises. Besides the carving demonstrations, there will be also body art painting and many games. Some of the games include rolling watermelons, guessing their weight and colour and bowling with watermelons. The village of Nikyup is known for growing high-quality local watermelons – sweet and with a thin peel.

Luxury cinema will open in Veliko Tarnovo this autumn

Luxury cinema will return the shine of the Iskra community centre in Veliko Tarnovo.

Four luxury cinema halls will be featured in the newest cinema, which will opens doors at the Iskra Chitalishte in Veliko Tarnovo on the 5th of October. Hall 1 will be the largest screen in the city with an impressive 12 meters wide and 5 meters high. A new indoor pool will open in Veliko Tarnovo town

New indoor swimming pool will open in the beginning of autumn in Veliko Tarnovo town. The pool is close to Billa supermarket, also there is an open pool that is open for the summer.
There is a major overhaul of the facility and the adjoining premises. The swimming pool is small Olympic size and is 25 m long and 12.5 m wide, the depth is from 1.40 to 1.90 m. At this stage most of the pool is ready, its size and shape are preserved and it is made by standard. A brand new filtering system will also be installed.
