A medieval camp at the Trapezitsa fortress will mark the beginning of the active summer tourist season in Veliko Tarnovo. The historical reconstructions will take place on May 22nd from 10:00 to 18:00 at the second fortress of medieval Tarnovgrad. They will include reconstructions of everyday life, crafts, military skills and more from the XII-XIV centuries. Visitors will be able to get acquainted with glorious moments of the Bulgarian history in an authentic environment, according to the organizers.

Beautiful stained glass installations are now adorning Sveta Gora Park in Veliko Tarnovo. They were made by students and lecturers from the Faculty of Fine Arts at the St. Cyril and St. Methodius University of Veliko Tarnovo. The realization is part of the project “Ecoartlogy”, representing the creation of works of monumental art in synthesis with the natural environment.
From 29 of June to 1 of July the Tsarevets Fortress will host the International Festival “Medieval Tarnovgrad” for the fourth consecutive year. The historic reconstructions of Bulgaria, Byzantine and European arts, the kitchens, crafts, the arts and military skills of the XII-XIV century are a real bridge in time and will bring visitors to another, mysterious and full of pleasant experiences. Over 150 reenactors from Bulgaria, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Ukraine and Hungary will participate in the festival in Veliko Tarnovo.
The early Spring evening sky of Veliko Tarnovo, over the historic River Yantra Gorge and Statue of The Asens, exploded into an eruption of powerful spotlights, piercing Lasers, strobe lights and sound and music last night.
This is just a dress rehearsal for the evening celebrations of Veliko Tarnovo holiday on Thursday 22nd March.

The rehearsal pleased local Veliko Turnovo residents and tourists who were lucky enough to be on the old historical Gurko Street, where typical old Bulgaria property built during the renaissance and pre-revival period nestle precariously on the cliff slopes and little streets by the river gorge.
This again shows what Veliko Tarnovo municipality are doing to arouse interest in this most historic town and region with numerous eco tourist attractions and cultural centres, towns and villages.
