The new shopping centre Veliko Tarnovo will include a 3-story complex with an underground parking and a big cinema.
The owner of the cultural complex “Poltava” Velichko Minev is currently clearing some of the dangerous elements of the facade, where the cinema had been up until years ago, waiting to get the proper construction permit to completely rebuild Poltava. According to Minev the work that needs to be done will take around a year or so. He has plans to build an underground parking on 3 or even 4 levels if the terrain allows. As anyone living in Tarnovo knows parking in this town is extremely hard so a new parking will definitely come in handy. Besides an underground parking the complex will most likely include a cinema, as well as a few well-known retail chains.
At present, the complex has an area of nearly 5,000 square meters, but with the renovation and expansion it will become a spacious shopping centre, which will extend to nearly 15,000 sq. m. A huge part of it will be underground parking on several floors with an entrance from the south.
Besides a huge parking the new shopping centre Veliko Tarnovo will also have multiple other objects with different purposes. The cinema was built in 1974 on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the 9 September victory and since then nothing has been renovated in it. There is a great chance that the salon, which the residents and guests of the city connect with wonderful memories, will be reborn. Three large food chains have expressed a desire to have their sites here and Velichko Minev is currently negotiating with them. The upcoming renovation also includes an expansion of the panoramic café Vogue, as well as the cult restaurant “Shtastlivetza”, to which several VIP halls will be added.
The building standards and the silhouette of the surrounding buildings allow the complex to be raised and elevated, but this will not happen. An increase to the level of current levels from the east is foreseen only from the south, according to the conceptual project. The amphitheatrical location, as well as the building style in the region, will be observed.
