All museums in Veliko Tarnovo are extending their working hours

From April 1, 2024, the objects and expositions of the Regional History Museum-Veliko Tarnovo have new working hours for the active tourist season. Architectural-museum reserve “Tsarevets” welcomes visitors every day from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Closes at 20:00. Museum “Patriarchal Church of the Holy Ascension” is open from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Here are the working hours of the other museum sites:

“Trapezitsa” architectural-museum reserve welcomes visitors every day from 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. It closes at 7:00 p.m.

Archaeological Reserve “Nikopolis ad Istrum” welcomes visitors every day from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Closes at 6:00 p.m.

Tsarevgrad Tarnov Multimedia Visitor Center welcomes visitors every day from 9:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Closes at 7:00 p.m. Prevention: Mondays from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Museum “Prison” receives visitors from 9.30 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. Closes at 5.30 p.m. Closed on Sundays and Mondays. Prevention: Wednesday from 9.30 am to 12.00 pm.

Museum “New History” does not accept visitors.

Museum “Sarafkin House” receives visitors from 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Closes at 5:30 p.m. Closed on Sundays and Mondays. Prevention: Wednesday from 9.30 am to 12.00 pm.

Museum “P. R. Slaveikov” accepts visitors only by prior request from the previous working day.

Working hours of the museums out of the town

The objects in the “Arbanasi” Architectural Museum Reserve receive visitors from 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. They close at 6:00 p.m. Prevention: “Constantsalieva House” museum and “St. Archangels Michael and Gabriel” – Monday from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.; Church of the Nativity – Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.; church “St. Georgi” – Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

The General History Museum of Kilifarevo accepts visitors only by prior request no later than the previous working day.

Philip Totyu House-Museum, Voneshta Voda village welcomes visitors every day from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Closes at 5:30 p.m.

The ticket offices stop selling tickets 30 minutes, and for the “Tsarevets” and “Trapezitsa” Architectural Museum Reserves, “Nikopolis ad Istrum” Archaeological Reserve, “Tsarevgrad Tarnov” Multimedia Visitor Center and the Archaeological Museum – 1 hour before the end of working hours.

Guided talks in the museums in Veliko Tarnovo and expositions are given only by tour guides, employees of the Regional History Museum. Upon prior request, the museums also accept visitors on holidays and during preventive hours.

In the “Tsarevets” and “Trapezitsa” architectural-museum reserves and the “Nikopolis ad Istrum” archaeological reserve, together with the fiscal receipt, visitors receive a flyer “Recommendations for a safe visit”.

From April 1, 2024, the sale of a combined ticket for visiting 10 museum sites will resume.
