The museums in Veliko Tarnovo with new working hours from April 1

All museums in Veliko Tarnovo are extending their working hours

From April 1, 2024, the objects and expositions of the Regional History Museum-Veliko Tarnovo have new working hours for the active tourist season. Architectural-museum reserve “Tsarevets” welcomes visitors every day from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Closes at 20:00. Museum “Patriarchal Church of the Holy Ascension” is open from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Here are the working hours of the other museum sites:

“Trapezitsa” architectural-museum reserve welcomes visitors every day from 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. It closes at 7:00 p.m.

Archaeological Reserve “Nikopolis ad Istrum” welcomes visitors every day from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Closes at 6:00 p.m.

All Tarnovo museums with new working hours from April 1st

With the beginning of the active tourist season, all museums in the old capital are extending their working hours.

Tsarevets Architectural and Museum Reserve will receive visitors every day from 8.00 to 19.00 and closes at 20.00. The Museum “Patriarchal Church” Holy Ascension “is open from 9.00 to 19.00.

Trapezitsa Architectural and Museum Reserve receives visitors every day from 8.30 to 18.00. Closes at 19.00.

Electronic tickets for the Veliko Tarnovo museums soon

Introduction of an electronic system for ticket sales and control of access to museum sites should start working this year. The innovation is a part of the business plan of the municipal tourist association “Tsarevgrad Tarnov”. The actual development and synchronization with the electronic system of the Regional History Museum is forthcoming. The idea is to make it as easy as possible for tourists, thus preventing queues in front of the larger museums.

Initially, three devices will be installed to access the most visited sites. Turnstiles will be installed at the entrance of Tsarevets , the church “St. 40 Martyrs ” and the Multimedia Visitor Center.
