The museums in Veliko Tarnovo with new working hours from April 1

All museums in Veliko Tarnovo are extending their working hours

From April 1, 2024, the objects and expositions of the Regional History Museum-Veliko Tarnovo have new working hours for the active tourist season. Architectural-museum reserve “Tsarevets” welcomes visitors every day from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Closes at 20:00. Museum “Patriarchal Church of the Holy Ascension” is open from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Here are the working hours of the other museum sites:

“Trapezitsa” architectural-museum reserve welcomes visitors every day from 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. It closes at 7:00 p.m.

Archaeological Reserve “Nikopolis ad Istrum” welcomes visitors every day from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Closes at 6:00 p.m.

Things to do in Veliko Tarnovo this summer – new attraction tourist train

The attraction starts on July 1 and will offer panoramic tours of the old part of Veliko Tarnovo town

The tourist train will again travel by the Tsarevets and Trapezitsa fortresses, the Vladishki bridge, and the churches in Asenova Mahala. After a four-year hiatus, together with the Tsarevgrad Tarnov Municipal Tourist Agency, the Municipality is resuming the attraction tours from July 1. And as a gesture to all residents and guests of Veliko Tarnovo, on July 1 to 9, the train will be free.

Celebrate Enyovden at the Samovodska Charshia in Veliko Tarnovo

For the eighteenth time, residents and guests of Veliko Tarnovo can celebrate Enyovden a.k.a. Midsummer’s Day. The Day of the summer solstice, medicinal herbs and ancient magical rituals will be celebrated with the holiday “Enyovden at the Samovodska Charshia” on June 24. The events for the Day of the Summer Solstice are organized by the Municipal Tourist Agency “Tsarevgrad Tarnov” and promise to immerse those present in the magical rites and rituals of the holiday.

Beautiful stained glass installations in Sveta Gora Park in Veliko Tarnovo

Beautiful stained glass installations are now adorning Sveta Gora Park in Veliko Tarnovo. They were made by students and lecturers from the Faculty of Fine Arts at the St. Cyril and St. Methodius University of Veliko Tarnovo. The realization is part of the project “Ecoartlogy”, representing the creation of works of monumental art in synthesis with the natural environment.

Medieval festival in June in Veliko Tarnovo

From 29 of June to 1 of July the Tsarevets Fortress will host the International Festival “Medieval Tarnovgrad” for the fourth consecutive year. The historic reconstructions of Bulgaria, Byzantine and European arts, the kitchens, crafts, the arts and military skills of the XII-XIV century are a real bridge in time and will bring visitors to another, mysterious and full of pleasant experiences. Over 150 reenactors from Bulgaria, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Ukraine and Hungary will participate in the festival in Veliko Tarnovo. Continue Reading
