Veliko Tarnovo with plans for an amusement park, buffer parking and more

The Municipality of Veliko Tarnovo is planning a large amusement park with a nearly 40-meter Ferris wheel with panoramic views of the city, Tsarevets, Trapezitsa and Arbanasi. This became clear after a speech by the Mayor Daniel Panov during the meeting of the Municipal Council.

The Municipality of Veliko Tarnovo has already carried out initial studies for the construction of a Ferris wheel which is to be located in the northern part of the city where the old Serjeant school is. The mayor said that after the acquisition of 20 decares from the former Sergeant School, the Municipality will apply for a European program for the construction of a children’s amusement park there. The place would be ideal for a park especially taking into consideration the closeness of the new buffer parking that is to be built.

Actually there are big plans for the region of the Sergeant School. It is envisaged that the area will become a modern business centre with separate areas for a congress centre, amusement park, recreation areas and buffer parking. The property has an area of 19,239 square meters, located near the entrance artery of the city from Sofia. After the closure of the Sergeant School, the property was not maintained and the existing buildings and underground infrastructure were severely compromised. The terrain is overgrown with vegetation of various tree species, shrubs and grass. There are three old buildings in the property, which are unusable and subject to removal

The planned parking lot will have spaces for three electric buses, parking spaces for 10 tourist buses and 102 parking spaces for cars as well as spaces for 10 electric cars and 5 places for the disabled. It is also planned for the parking to have checkpoints, charging station for electric cars, power panels and charging stations for electric buses.

But when is the Airport meant to open? It seems that tourists would have to come in by coach?
