Veliko Tarnovo will be taken over by autumn jazz evenings in September

Autumn jazz evenings will take over Veliko Tarnovo and will delight the audience on 14, 15 and 16 September. The three evening concerts will be held at the Summer Theater. Each event starts at 20.00 and will have a free entrance.

The popular singer Kamelia Todorova will host the first night (September 14th) in the Old Capital. She will come out on the stage with the Big Band – Veliko Tarnovo / Municipal Brass Orchestra / with conductor maestro Vladimir Boshnakov. Kamelia Todorova will perform her favourite jazz, blues and pop hits, as well as some of her most popular and beloved songs. She will also present her new author’s “Beautiful Memory”, written for her by her daughter, Rachel Rowe.

At 11.00 on Saturday / September 15th, on the first school day, the open music lessons Jazz for Children with Ventzislav Blagoev and Jazzte will be held. Soloist will be Marina Gospodinova. The repertoire will include popular Bulgarian and foreign children’s songs in a jazz arrangement, as well as classical plays in which children will take part. At 20.00 on Saturday, the second concert evening begins, and the performers from Overgraund Brass Band – Stara Zagora will go on stage. The seven-member formation with band leader Daniel Lazarov / bass guitar / skillfully combines the styles of funk, soul, pop, rock and jazz.

The final of “Autumn Jazz Evenings in Veliko Tarnovo” will be the concert of “Mihail Yosifov sextet”. The concert on Sunday evening / September 16 / is at 20.00 like every other night. of “Mihail Yosifov sextet” is a contemporary jazz formation, created by the trumpeter, composer and arranger Mihail Yosifov in the end of 2009. The concert in Veliko Tarnovo will be with the special participation of the young and very talented singer Veselka Tsankova. The program of “Mihail Yosifov sextet” will include author compositions part of the album “Broken windows” and a few compositions by the Bulgarian composer Iosiv Tsankov.

The new musical event, organized by the Municipality, continues the tradition that Veliko Tarnovo becomes the center of attraction of jazz musicians from all over Bulgaria every summer.
