Commercial flights continue to operate between Bulgaria and the UK, but a reduced service is in place. Wizz Air has announced their flights will be three times a week – Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.
The Foreign Office advises British nationals against all but essential international travel, and strongly advises any British nationals who live in the UK and who are currently travelling abroad to return to the UK while there are still commercial flights available.
Wizz Air will resume flights between Varna and London from April 16, 2020. The course will run three times a week – Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, and tickets can be purchased online at their site or via the mobile app. All other Wizz Air flights from Varna remain canceled until May 1, 2020 as a measure to stop the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic.
As of today the total number of cases of coronavirus in Bulgaria is 695. Of them 581 are active according to data from the National Operational Headquarters. 81 people were cured. In the last 24 hours there are 19 new cases. 9 of them are in hospitals. The increase from the previous day is 2.8%. Another 4 people have died in the last 24 hours. The total number of people who lost their lives due to the coronavirus is 35.
Again we would like to remind everyone to use personal protective equipment such as gloves and masks and to disinfect your hands before and after handling anything outside. Also keep in mind to observe a distance of at least 1.5 m around other people. And of course stay at home if you can.
