New measures after the increase of infected in the Veliko Tarnovo region

By order of the director of RHI – Veliko Tarnovo, Dr Evgenia Nedeva, the epidemiological measures in the district are tightened. From 16th to 29th March it is prohibited to hold mass public events – celebrations, fairs, festivals etc. on the territory of the district. Markets and marketplaces must provide a distance of one and a half meters between stands. In shopping malls and food and non-food chains, a pass regime must be introduced to avoid crowding.

RHI orders the principals of schools in the district to switch to online learning in case of an increase in the number of infected students and teachers. Mayors are to allow preschool children to be absent from compulsory education at the request of parents. All extracurricular activities are to be suspended. Minors are not allowed to visit public catering establishments and shopping centres, including malls, without an adult companion.

Restaurants are to allow up to six customers at one table in strict compliance with the distance between the tables and all other anti-epidemic measures.

126 new cases of coronavirus have been registered in the past 24 hours in the Veliko Tarnovo district. Thus, the total number of infected people in the district since the beginning of the epidemic has reached 6,099.

A high number of new cases has been reported in the last 24 hours in Bulgaria as well – 4,637. So far, a total of 283,194 infected people have been identified in the country, with the active cases being 44,663. 7,269 people are hospitalized, of which 577 are in intensive care. During the last 24 hours, 187 people died, bringing the total number of deaths to 11,472. For the past 24 hours, 1,877 people were cured making the total number of cured patients 227,059.
