New anti-epidemic measures in the Veliko Tarnovo district

There has been an increase in the newly infected people registered in the Veliko Tarnovo district. The morbidity has jumped to nearly 200 per 100,000 people. 157 people were diagnosed in the last 3 days alone. As a result, the Regional Health Inspectorate in Veliko Tarnovo has ordered the suspension of scheduled admissions and scheduled hospital operations from today (Monday). Visits to hospitalized people are forbidden, and everyone who enters a hospital must wear a protective mask and will have their temperature taken at the entrance.

New anti-epidemic measures in the Veliko Tarnovo district

Exceptions are provided for activities related to organ, tissue and cell transplantation, diagnosis and treatment of patients with oncological and oncohematological diseases, assisted reproduction and birth, rehabilitation activities, long-term treatment and psychiatric care. There is also an exception for hospital visits when it comes to terminally ill patients.

The temporary anti-epidemic measures will be changed depending on the development of the epidemic situation on the territory of the Veliko Tarnovo district. Similar measures were introduced at the end of last week in the medical institutions in Sofia and other cities due to the growing number of new cases of Covid-19. These measures are expected to be introduced in all regions of the country falling within the so-called red zone.

During the last 24 hours 497 people were diagnosed with COVID-19 in Bulgaria. The distribution by districts is as follows: Blagoevgrad – 12; Burgas – 15; Varna – 23; Veliko Tarnovo – 9; Vratsa – 26; Gabrovo – 1; Dobrich – 21; Kardzhali – 3; Kyustendil – 10; Lovech – 8; Pazardzhik – 22; Pernik – 13; Pleven – 29; Plovdiv – 30; Razgrad – 10; Ruse – 15; Silistra – 7; Sliven – 18; Smolyan – 8; Sofia region – 21; Sofia city – 160; Stara Zagora – 8; Targovishte – 6; Haskovo – 9; Shumen – 4; Yambol – 9.

The total number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 in our country is 260,308 with 36,807 of them active. The cured people are 212,887 with 385 of them registered during the past 24 hours. A total of 5,776 patients with a coronavirus infection are in hospitals. 456 of them are in intensive care. 288,631 are the total number of vaccinations done against COVID-19 in Bulgaria with 1,513 of them during the last 24 hours. The death toll is 10,614 with 21 cases registered in the last 24 hours.
