The Kapinovo Monastery Camping in the Veliko Tarnovo district is amongst the best ones according to a survey

The campsite near the Kapinovo Monastery triumphs in this year’s ranking of favourite Bulgarian campsites, organized by the camping.bg platform. The representative of the Veliko Tarnovo district won a record six awards, getting ahead of even the equipped nature tourism areas along the Black Sea coast.

The winners in the fifth edition of the race were chosen thanks to a special poll in Bulgarian and English. Nearly 1,000 people between the ages of 30 and 55 who prefer tent or caravan holidays took part in the questionnaire. The Kapinovo Monastary campsite won first place in the categories of “Favourite Inland Camping”, “Hygiene”, “Camping Site Convenience”, “Extra Services”, “Hospitality” and “Facilities Development and Improvement”. In the other subsections, the camp is part of the top three, which makes it have the status of a kind of national leader. What is more, the Kapinovo campsite has won the most support from foreign tourists.

The Kapinovo Monastery Camping is situated at the foot of the Balkans, near Veselina river in the region of the Kapinovski Monastery “Saint Nikolay Chudotvorets”, and only 20km away from the old capital of Bulgaria – Veliko Tarnovo. Close to the campsite is the Kapinovski waterfall.

The campsite has been built following a German model for camping design and fulfilling all requirements of the European Camping Association. There are about 60 camping places for caravans, all of which are connected to sewage, water and electricity supply. Plus two specifically designed for the purpose tent zones for around 80 tents. Guests of the camping have access to a reception desk, medical point, modern kitchen facilities, shower cabins and toilets.

There is also a swimming pool with a modern water heating system, which allows the water to maintain a pleasant temperature even in the not so warm days. There are also a kids’ pool, playground areas and a tavern as well.

The theatre website has a program for upcoming events but unfortunately it is only in Bulgarian. If your browser supports translations you can try that. If not – we usually write articles for interesting upcoming events so just check our page from time to time.
