Electronic tickets for the Veliko Tarnovo museums soon

Introduction of an electronic system for ticket sales and control of access to museum sites should start working this year. The innovation is a part of the business plan of the municipal tourist association “Tsarevgrad Tarnov”. The actual development and synchronization with the electronic system of the Regional History Museum is forthcoming. The idea is to make it as easy as possible for tourists, thus preventing queues in front of the larger museums.

Initially, three devices will be installed to access the most visited sites. Turnstiles will be installed at the entrance of Tsarevets , the church “St. 40 Martyrs ” and the Multimedia Visitor Center.

Electronic tickets for turnstiles will be sold in almost all museum sites. At the same time, electronic tickets will be available for purchase online.

Monitoring and reporting will become even more precise. An improvement in the quality of another service is also expected to happen this year – the purchase of a ticket through a POS terminal. Unfortunately, this option is currently only possible for tourists with Bulgarian debit cards. However, the visitors to the historic hill are mostly foreigners. Therefore, this year the servicing bank is expected to change the parameters and make it possible to use foreign debit cards.

Tsarevgrad Tarnov also plans to optimize and maintain the database of the most frequently requested information by individual tourists and citizens of Veliko Tarnovo. It will be updated twice a month and will be expanded to include information for other neighboring regions or those that are a part of popular routes including Veliko Tarnovo. They also plan to organize regular meetings with local businesses and hoteliers. There will definitely be at least two – at the beginning and end of the tourist season, for the better and optimal development of tourism in the city.

Promotion of new attractions and tourist products is forthcoming, as well as the crafts presented at the Samovodska Charshia. News and events on the website www.velikoturnovo.info will be updated daily. At the same time, the created module for online sale of event tickets www.velikoturnovo.info/tickets will be reworked into a module for online store, which will expand and improve the commercial activity of the company and especially the sales of souvenirs from the Samovodska Charshia, souvenirs produced by the company, printed materials and books for the city and the region.
