COVID-19: A new record of infected in Bulgaria – 90 new cases

1171 is the total number of COVID-19 infected in Bulgaria. The new cases for the day are 90, which is a significant increase from the previous day (8.3%). Of these, 21 people have been hospitalized. This was made clear by the regular morning briefing of the National Operations Headquarters.

270 people with confirmed COVID-19 in Bulgaria are hospitalized and 37 of them are in intensive care. The oldest patient is 95 years old and the youngest is a two-month-old baby. The patients which are treated and cured are 193.

The newly infected are in the districts: Sofia – 29 cases, Vidin – 18, Pleven – 12, Kyustendil – 5, Blagoevgrad – 11, Sliven – 5, Yambol – 2, Ruse – 3, Burgas – 1, Veliko Tarnovo – 1 , Pernik – 1, Plovdiv – 1, Vratsa – 1.

Among the newly infected are 10 children – three in Blagoevgrad, two in Sofia, two in Vidin and one in Kyustendil, Pernik and Burgas. They are not hospitalized and are with mild flu symptoms. Keep in mind that the coronavirus may be mild in children but is very difficult to clear. The first child patient still tests positive for COVID-19 for more than a month now .

Two more people have died in the last 24 hours – a 71 year old man and a woman of 85. Thus, the total number of deaths because of COVID-19 is 52, which is 4.4% of the cases.
