New order by the Health Minister: Masks will be optional for work teams of up to 7 people

The Minister of Health Dr. Stoycho Katsarov issued an order according to which work teams of up to 7 people can be allowed to not wear protective masks under certain conditions. This will be a decision of employers, owners or managers of public facilities, commercial and other sites providing services to citizens. The condition is that all individuals must have been vaccinated against COVID-19 and/or have had a coronavirus infection.

Wearing masks in indoor public places in Bulgaria is mandatory again

For the purposes of the order, a “vaccinated against COVID-19” person is a person who has completed a vaccination course against COVID-19, certified with an EU Digital COVID vaccination certificate and has passed a 14-day period from the date of the last dose. And a person who has had COVID-19 must have a laboratory-proven COVID-19 by PCR or rapid antigen test, certified by a prescription of the relevant regional health inspectorate, or with an EU Digital COVID certificate for COVID-19. The order for nonmandatory face masks for small work teams enters into force from June 16.

The newly diagnosed with COVID-19 in Bulgaria during the last 24 hours are 161. The distribution by districts is as follows: Blagoevgrad – 8; Burgas – 5; Varna – 5; Veliko Tarnovo – 1; Vidin – 6; Vratsa – 1; Gabrovo – 3; Dobrich – 8; Kardzhali – 5; Kyustendil – 1; Lovech – 3; Montana – 3; Pazardzhik – 2; Pernik – 4; Pleven – 2; Plovdiv – 20; Razgrad – 3; Ruse – 5; Sliven – 3; Smolyan – 4; Sofia region – 5; Sofia city – 40; Stara Zagora – 10; Targovishte – 5; Haskovo – 2; Shumen – 4; Yambol – 3.

The proven cases of coronavirus confirmed in Bulgaria at the moment, are a total of 420,654. The active cases are 11,751. 390,971 people have already been cured, 583 of whom registered in the past 24 hours. At the moment, 2,097 patients are hospitalized with 241 of them in intensive care. The total administered doses of the vaccine against COVID-19 are 1,602,136, of which 15,474 were administered during the last 24 hours. The death toll in which coronavirus infection was confirmed is 17,932 people with 17 cases registered in the last 24 hours.
