Major new highway Ruse – Veliko Tarnovo: the debate continues

Last month the government Agency for “Roads Infrastructure” (API) announced dates for a series of meetings to consult with local people on the proposed routes for the new highway between Ruse and Veliko Tarnovo, as reported by VT-Today Nov 23rd: Ruse-Veliko-Tarnovo-Highway.

The new road has an approximate length of 133 km. The beginning of the project is 3 km east of the existing Danube Bridge near Ruse and ends just south of Veliko Tarnovo, connecting with the existing road I-55 between the small towns of Kilifarevo and Debelets. The project is divided into three main sections: from Ruse to Byala, the bypass of the town of Byala and the section from Byala to Veliko Tarnovo.

Public meetings with people to decide which of the three options for the Ruse-Veliko Tarnovo highway is better

The meetings for discussing the environmental impact assessment of the Ruse-Veliko Tarnovo highway start at 28th of November in Pavlikeni, Gorna Oryahovitsa, Veliko Tarnovo and Polski Trambesh. Veliko Tarnovo-Arbanasi road is being reconstructed, the government is financing the project

The reconstruction of the Veliko Tarnovo-Arbanasi road is already a fact: the drainage system installation is completed and the sections of the road exposed to landslide processes have been reinforced. The road is now being asphalted and the expectations are the work will be finished by the end of the month when the traffic between Veliko Tarnovo and Arbanasi will be restored as well. The new Veliko Tarnovo-Ruse highway is to be built soon, the project is now completed

The “Road Infrastructure Agency” has just published the report about the ecological impact on the environment of the new Ruse-Veliko Tarnovo highway. Interesting information from North Central Bulgaria

Hello, everyone! Here is short monitoring about interesting news from North Central Bulgaria and specifically Veliko Tarnovo area.

This time of the year starts with many reconstructions works in city Veliko Tarnovo and region.Today starts the stepwise closing of the road to Arbanasi. If you decide, to visit this traditional village at Veliko Tarnovo area, with many traditional houses, churches, monasteries and traditional restaurants, you will have to go through the village of Sheremetya. Other interesting news from this days, about Veliko Tarnovo, is, that there will be a new organization of tourist’s transportation. Buses of tourist’s companies will stop at tree parking zones, from where people will be transported, to the main sightseeing’s of Veliko Tarnovo. In general, this will reduce air’s pollution and will make traffic much calmer. From me- as one future, young driver-one big yes. Continue Reading
