Santa Claus and his dwarves welcome the residents and guests of Veliko Tarnovo in Marno Pole Park for the Veliko Tarnovo Christmas Bazaar. Colorful fireworks in the December sky marked the opening of the fabulous Christmas town, located in the centre of the Old Capital.
The Christmas Bazaar was officially opened by Gancho Karabadzakov, Deputy Mayor of Veliko Tarnovo, and Borislav Yordanov, the manager of the Municipal Tourist Agency “Tsarevgrad Turnov”. The traditional Veliko Tarnovo Christmas Bazaar is an initiative of the Mayor Daniel Panov, the project started 5 years ago and proved to be extremely successful.
Veliko Tarnovo Christmas Bazaar will run every day until the New Year from 10:00 a.m. to 20:00 p.m. Twenty-five pavilions will offer Christmas gifts and decorations, toys, souvenirs, art pieces, seasonal goods, confectionery, culinary delights, organic wines and meat delicacies.
There will be special attractions for the children (concerts and show programs), parties and rock nights for the teenagers. One of the kiosks will serve as a post office where the will be able to send their letters to Santa in Laplandia. The Deputy Mayor of the Old Capital was the first to write a couple of words to Santa, kindly asking him to bring joy and happiness to every child.
Several charity initiatives are organized within Veliko Tarnovo Christmas Bazaar. In one of the houses, the amateurs from the social services will offer handmade gifts, souvenirs and other items. The funds raised by the “We Can” campaign will be in support of the art workshops at the social services centres. The charity exhibition Bazaar will be opened each day until the end of the year.
In the period of December 11th-13th, the Rotaract and Interact youth organizations will lead a campaign in of support the children in Veliko Tarnovo and the prevention of cardiovascular diseases.
For a third consecutive year, with its own kiosk, there will be the Friends of the Animals VT association. Volunteers collect money, food, blankets, bedding and even toys for stray dogs and cats.
With the support of the Municipality of Veliko Tarnovo, the foundation “I want a baby” will also present its campaign.
