Three-dimensional “Tsarevets”, as it looked in the 14th century in a unique multimedia book

The Veliko Tarnovo entrepreneur Sabin Bijev, tempted by the history and his love for the Tsarevets fortress and his hometown, made a unique book about the emblematic fortress. The work on it takes him several years long research and the latest computer technology, but the author is satisfied, because every future reader will be able to get an idea of the brilliance of the authentic Tsarevets and the Patriarchal complex.

The book begins with the grandeur of Tarnovgrad, through the preserved medieval images, the buildings that make up the Patriarchal complex, the mystical well, as well as interesting information about the medieval life. Тhe author also made a map of the complex as a bonus to the book. There are QR codes in the content, which after scanning will take readers to 360-degree panoramic photos or videos for even better visualization.

The book consists of 64 fully illustrated pages. Everything contained in it is historically authentic, written on the basis of many years of research, consultations with archaeologists and historians.

The author also used a plan of the Patriarchal complex, made as a result of the excavations in the 60s of the last century in the book “Tsarevgrad Tarnov” on the visualization of architect Kuzupov. However, he questioned some facts and showed, based on evidence, what he thought the church looked like. He made five different versions of the Church of the Ascension – the largest church at the time in Bulgaria.

The book aims to help people get an idea of the splendor of Tsarevets, as it looked in the 14th century, and one of the highlights is the Patriarchal complex. The story of the way of life of our fellow citizens during the Middle Ages is also curious and authentic.
