Tsarevets and Arbanasi featured in the Top 5 of the Annual Tourism Awards
The winners in the fourth Annual Tourism Awards – 2019 organized by the Ministry of Tourism have been announced. Prizes in 16 professional and creative categories were determined through an online vote, with thousands of users voting for their favourites during this period. Veliko Tarnovo is included with nominations in two categories for the Annual Tourism Awards and of course the pearl of the city – the Tsarevets fortress is amongst the winners.
Big extension of the road to Momin Sbor because of the new Ruse-Veliko Tarnovo highway
According to “Borba” newspaper, there will be a four-lane extension of the road junction to Momin Sbor. There are four lanes at the moment, but only near Veliko Tarnovo itself and the lanes should be wide and feature a high-speed road all the way to Momin Sbor. The extension is already approved. The current road will reach a large road junction, which will be located in the area of the former Serb Grill southeast of Momin Sbor, where the future highway will pass, according to sketches from its final project.
Veliko Tarnovo’s new attraction – a flower clock inspired by the one in Geneva
The only flower clock in Bulgaria is the newest attraction in Veliko Tarnovo. The idea and realization of the initiative is thanks to the Rotary Club – Veliko Tarnovo and is a gift for the citizens of the old capital. The park clock, made entirely with personal funds from the members of the Tarnovo Rotary Club, costs over 10 000 leva.
Talents from 12 countries and 3 continents will participate in the contest Silver Yantra in Veliko Tarnovo
From September 26 to September 29 the 17th edition of the International Pop Music Contest for Young Singers “Silver Yantra” will gather talents in Veliko Tarnovo from 12 countries and 3 continents – Europa, Asia and America. According to the regulation, the format of the competition allows 80 individual singers aged 5 to 25 years old, divided into 4 age groups. “Singing Families ” will also compete voices in the new attractive category “Family Group ”.
