Board Game Festival in Veliko Tarnovo – fun games, tournaments and more

Are you ready for an unforgettable weekend in the world of board games in Veliko Tarnovo? The board game festival “Nastolen Grad” 2020 is coming soon and organizers promise the fourth edition will be the best one yet. If you’re looking for a reason to take a break from your computer or mobile phone, to have fun in a casual way, or just meet new people, the board game festival is the place for you.

This festival is an annual event, gathering together not only fans but also board game novices from around the country and abroad. It is a weekend pastime for board gamers with hundreds of new and classic titles, tournaments, game presentations, a raffle and lots of fun. The fourth edition of the festival will take place on 22nd and 23rd February at Sky Centre Veliko Tarnovo. The festival will take up the whole second floor of the building.

Nastolen Grad happened for the first time in 2017 with just over 200 visitors and in 2019 the number exceeded 500. Guests come not only from Veliko Tarnovo and the surrounding area but from Sofia, Plovdiv, Ruse, Varna, Dobrich, Bucharest and so on. The Board Game Festival “Nastolen Grad” 2020 will have everything that comes to mind at such an event – loads of games, exciting tournaments, many stalls, demonstrations and interesting game prototypes from Bulgarian authors. But above all, the festival is the place to meet people who share a passion for board games – from their creators to their sworn fans. Plus, board games are a great family-friendly activity, so don’t hesitate to bring your kids. Admission is free for all!

The organizer of the event is the Let’s Play (Da Igraem) Foundation, which aims to promote board games not only as a hobby but as a great way for developing skills and making friends. Board, social and role games can help us communicate better with each other, build emotional intelligence and learn to think outside the box.
