The team of the Konstantin Kisimov Music and Drama Theatre in Veliko Tarnovo is organizing a special Christmas gala concert, called “Snow Flowers”, which will include masterpieces of world opera and operetta classics. The traditional Christmas gala concert will be held on December 21st at 7 pm in the large hall of the theatre.
After the global pandemic blocked the entire cultural life last year, the traditional International Folklore Festival in Veliko Tarnovo will be held this year, albeit on a smaller scale than in previous years. The festival will once again be part of the cultural calendar of the old capital from July 25 to 30 on the stage of the Summer Theater.
A medieval camp at the Trapezitsa fortress will mark the beginning of the active summer tourist season in Veliko Tarnovo. The historical reconstructions will take place on May 22nd from 10:00 to 18:00 at the second fortress of medieval Tarnovgrad. They will include reconstructions of everyday life, crafts, military skills and more from the XII-XIV centuries. Visitors will be able to get acquainted with glorious moments of the Bulgarian history in an authentic environment, according to the organizers.
Tsarevets and Trapezitsa are included in the competition for favourite cultural and historical destinations “Wonders of the Decade”. The ranking started on the eve of the 10th anniversary of the largest national campaign for the preservation of cultural heritage and the promotion of historical tourism – Wonders of Bulgaria. It presents 20 sites that have become favourite destinations of tourists. After the vote, the winners in the Top 10 will be determined.
