New anti-epidemic measures in Bulgaria from today

From November 12th to November 30th, with an Order issued on 11.10.2020, the Minister of Health introduces new anti-epidemic measures on the territory of Bulgaria.

University students and most high school students will continue with their online studies. The only exceptions are for medical students. Attended classes for students from fifth to twelfth grade will be cancelled in areas with a 14-day morbidity above 119.9 per 100 thousand population and 15% absence because of COVID-19.

All catering and entertainment establishments (restaurants, fast food establishments, cafes, etc.) may operate only between 06.00 and 23.30. During other hours only home deliveries are allowed. All night clubs, discos, night bars and so on will remain closed.

Grocery stores and pharmacies must organize their work to allow people aged 65 and over to shop only between 8.00 and 10.00. People under 65 are not allowed in grocery stores and pharmacies during those hours.

The new measures also include prohibiting minors from visiting malls. Minors may visit shopping centres and malls only if they are accompanied by a parent, guardian or an adult.

The carrying out of planned admission and planned operations in hospitals is suspended, with the exception of activities related to organ transplantation, diagnostics and treatment of oncological patients, assisted reproduction and birth, rehabilitation activities, long-term treatments and psychiatric care.

During the past 24 hours, the newly diagnosed with coronavirus in Bulgaria are 3 945. The distribution by districts is as follows: Blagoevgrad – 192, Burgas – 281, Varna – 295, Veliko Tarnovo – 144, Vidin – 36, Vratsa – 95, Gabrovo – 157, Dobrich – 50, Kardzhali – 23, Kyustendil – 66, Lovech – 32, Montana – 37, Pazardzhik – 85, Pernik – 105, Pleven – 101, Plovdiv – 378, Razgrad – 30, Ruse – 148, Silistra – 43, Sliven – 47, Smolyan – 33, Sofia region – 101, Sofia city – 1116, Stara Zagora – 110, Targovishte – 22, Haskovo – 80, Shumen – 58, Yambol – 80.

The total number of confirmed cases in Bulgaria is 87 311 with 58 699 active cases. The total number of cured patients is 26 714 of which 915 during the last 24 hours. The hospitalized patients are 4 478 with 276 of them in intensive care. The number of deceased people is 1 898 of which 47 cases from the last day.
