For another year, the village of Dzhulyunitsa will welcome the National Culinary Festival “Colorful Table”.
The national festival “Colorful Table” will be held for the thirteenth time in the largest village of Lyaskovets, Dzhulyunitsa. This colorful culinary and folklore festival will once again show Bulgarian traditional food and folklore traditions live on August 26, 2023. The start is at 9 o’clock, and the place is traditionally over the years – the park space. The native village of the most famous Bulgarian in Asia – Kaloyan Mahlyanov-Kotooshu gathers masters of traditional Bulgarian cuisine. And residents of the village and surrounding villages will compete for the most delicious and original local dishes.
A specially selected jury chaired by the creator of the event and manager of the “Guardian of Tradition – Guardians” Foundation, Chef Peño Ivanov, will taste the culinary achievements and determine winners in the various categories. There will be prizes for authentic recipe, for good taste, for best ethnovision of an exhibition. There will also be a Kotooshu Special Award for Overall Performance. As well as awards for Most Original and Unique Recipe and Most Delicious Dessert.
Within the framework of the great culinary celebration, a Municipal competition for the most delicious homemade lutenitsa has been held for 10 year. The previous winner of the competition presents his recipe by preparing a tray of the homemade Bulgarian delicacy on the spot. This year, it is the turn of Stefka Georgieva from the village of Vladislav to cook lutenitsa in public. Next to the craftswoman’s tray, there will be also pots with beans and fish soup. The contents of which, together with the lutenitsa, will be eaten at lunchtime on the holiday day.
The organizers from the community center “Awakening-1896” and the Municipality of Lyaskovets also promise sweet surprises for the children. As well as impressive stands with carving art, a vegan stand, an asparagus stand and others. Ten teams from the region will participate in the culinary exhibition. They will offer dishes prepared by them personally and brought on the day of the celebration.
There will be not only traditional Bulgarian food but also traditional folklore.
The folklore program will will make the celebration even more unforgettable in the rhythm of folk music. The festival will be accompanied by sonorous folk songs and rhythmic dances. Local groups and performers will present them. And also the young singer from the host village, Preslava Georgieva will have a special performance with a rich concert from her repertoire.
