On Lazarov Day, April 27, Saturday, little lazarky from the folklore formations of the Municipal Children’s Complex will demonstrate the custom of Lazaruvane from 10 a.m. at the Samovodska charshia. The celebration continues on the Vladish bridge. From there, the little girls will throw their flower wreaths into the Yantra River, calling for health and love.

On Palm Sunday, April 28, the centre of the celebration will be Druzhba Park.

There will be a market for handicrafts and flowers from 10 am to 3 pm. A gift from the mayor of Veliko Tarnovo Municipality has been prepared for all directories: a flower pot. From 10:30 a.m. the Skrin travelling theatre will present the puppet one-man show “Palechka and the Tale of Beauty.” animators of the theatre will organise an art eco-studio called “Ants and Caterpillars.”.

A little later, at 11:15 a.m., there is a children’s floristry workshop. The kids of Veliko Tarnovo will learn how to properly plant a flower in a pot. And since it cannot be done without a folklore programme, there will be a rich one. DUFA “Bulgarche” and dance club “Horo” and FC “Plettenitsa” led by Nikolay Korchev, will take part in the folklore programme. At 12:15 p.m., formations, clubs, and ensembles from Veliko Tarnovo’s municipality will participate in the Spring Dance. All guests are very welcome to join them.

The celebration of the Resurrection of Christ begins on Maundy Thursday, May 2.

From 10 a.m., in the Nativity of the Holy Virgin Cathedral, the priests will consecrate the eggs with paint. On Tsarevets, the crowd will celebrate en masse. And the gates of the fortress will be opened at 10:30 p.m. on May 4. At 11:30 p.m., there will be an Easter service in front of the Ascension Patriarchal Church. And half an hour later, we will light the bonfire. A ringing of all the bells will herald the resurrection of the Saviour. Around midnight, people will leave for the Nativity of the Holy Virgin Cathedral with a liturgical procession. There will be a distribution of consecrated eggs and kozunaci at the fortress entrance. At the cathedral, we will celebrate the Easter Holy Liturgy.

In “Marno Pole” Park, from 11 a.m. there will be a children’s animation with the Easter rabbit. And from 12 o’clock on the stage in front of the municipality, there will be an Easter. The participants will be the “Nightingale” vocal quartet. And also a dance formation with the Representative Ensemble for folk songs and dances “Nightingale”. There will be a festive dance programme.

The long-awaited concert of Blagovest and Svetoslav Argirovi will take place in front of the municipal building from 19:00.
The festive day will end with the broadcasting of an audio-visual performance “Sound and Light”.
