Additional measures to stop the spread of the coronavirus were implemented; they were introduced on 21 March in Veliko Tarnovo and all over Bulgaria as well.
All visits to parks, city gardens, outdoor and indoor playgrounds are unallowed. It is forbidden for people under 60 to visit grocery stores or pharmacies from 8.30 to 10.30 every day, aiming to allow older people to shop within this time range and thus have minimal contact with others. Checkpoints are implemented on the entrances and exits of all regional centre cities. Police officers will organize these checkpoints and check the purpose of the citizens’ travel. Citizens will be allowed to pass through the points only for urgent reasons – for work, for health reasons or to return home. These urgent reasons are verified by a declaration drafted by the Ministry of the Interior.

If you live in Veliko Tarnovo but work out of town, or vice versa, this declaration must be certified by the employer. Employee cards and employer notes are also valid. All official notes about an address or property issued by the mayors of Debelets, Kilifarevo and all 34 villages in Veliko Tarnovo municipality also apply.
As of today, the number of infected with the coronavirus in Bulgaria is 190. The new cases for the last day are 19 and most are from Sofia. The majority of the infected are slowly but surely getting better. However, if the implemented anti-epidemic measures don’t have the desired effect, new ones might be taken into consideration.
