The volunteer initiative Gorata.bg, which has planted over one million trees so far, is organising a new campaign. The seven settlements with the most votes in their Facebook group will receive 200,000 trees this spring. The nominees from the Veliko Tarnovo district include Veliko Tarnovo, Gorna Oryahovitsa, Lyaskovets and Svishtov, as well as the villages of Dzhulyunitsa, Parvomaytsi and Velchevo.
The donation will be made directly to people and organizations at specific events where trees will simply be given to anyone who wishes without conditions, without registration and completely free of charge. The types of trees will be various – honey, fruit, park and forest. The aim of the campaign is to make Bulgaria even more beautiful, greener and better – for people, bees and animals.
Gorata.bg is an initiative driven by the desire for good, entirely by volunteers and completely selfless. They have already planted over 1 million trees in Bulgaria and have set themselves the ambitious goal of planting 3 million by 2025. The organizers promise they will look for ways to reach everyone in the country and have many more campaigns. They also plan on having events for planting and afforestation as well as other good deeds.
So far, Veliko Tarnovo has collected a vote of over 1,700 people, ranking it in ninth place. The temporary leader in the vote is Shumen with over 5500 votes. The results will be announced on 21.02.2021. You can place your vote in the Facebook group Гората.бг – група.
