Two concerts dedicated to May 24 will be performed by the Veliko Tarnovo Theater in the Lapidarium

Two concerts dedicated to the Day of Bulgarian Education and Culture will be performed by the team of the Veliko Tarnovo Theater on the open stage in the Lapidarium of the Archaeological Museum in the old capital. On May 25th and May 27th, the audience will be able to enjoy the performances of soloists and musicians from the Music and Drama Theater “Konstantin Kisimov”, presented among the natural decor of statues and columns from the Roman era.

The concerts in the Lapidarium are organized with the assistance of the Municipality of Veliko Tarnovo and the Regional History Museum, said the director of the theater Vasil Valchev. The musical evenings in the Lapidarium begin on May 25th at 19:00 with a festive choral concert by the Konstantin Kisimov Music and Drama Theater with conductor Yanitsa Branzelova. The program includes works by Bulgarian and Slavic composers, including Dobri Hristov, Todor Popov, Panayot Pipkov, Petar Dinev, Parashkev Hadjiev, Asen Karastoyanov and others. Nadezhda Mireva, Stefan Stoev, Kiril Armenchev and the flutist Mariana Stefanova will appear as soloists on the stage. The concert is with the special participation of Maya Georgieva – violin.

The second concert in the Lapidarium is on May 27th at 19:00, when the gala concert “Magic of Spring” will be presented. Masterpieces of world opera and operetta classics will be presented to the connoisseurs of musical art by the theater team. The soloists of the Veliko Tarnovo Theater Simona Kodeva, Teodora Petrova, Miryana Kalushkova, Mirela Yabandzhieva, Momchil Karaivanov and Plamen Dolapchiev will appear on the stage. A special guest is Gergana Stoyanova – soloist of the Vocal Group “Singing Bells” at the Youth Center led by Vladimir Gabrov. The program includes fragments of favorite arias and duets from the works of Verdi, Bizet, Puccini, Delib, Strauss, Kalman, Lehar, Bernstein, Weber.

There are only about 80 seats for the audience in the Lapidarium, so tickets are limited. They are sold at the box office of MDT “Konstantin Kisimov”. On the day of the events, tickets can also be purchased at the box office at the entrance of the Lapidarium.
