The Municipality of Veliko Tarnovo now has a camera that broadcasts real-time video. The footage from the old capital city is broadcasted on a channel on the largest video platform YouTube, and will soon be available on the website of the Municipality as well.
Until now, Veliko Tarnovo did not have such a camera, unlike many other cities. The device was installed a few days ago and is already enjoying great interest in the stream. The camera transmits 24/7; the video is high resolution and there is the option to play sound as well. So now people around the world can watch all of the parades, holidays and other events live from the city centre. You can find the video here.
What is more, from this year Veliko Tarnovo is under constant surveillance. That is thanks to around 50 cameras installed in different places in the old capital – parks, streets and so on. The video surveillance covers the entrances and exits of the city, 15 of the crossroads both in the central part and in the neighbourhoods, the sports facilities for public use and so on. To ensure security, more than 150 cameras work in 36 villages from the Veliko Tarnovo municipality. They are installed in central parts and entrances and exits of the villages. Thanks to the cameras a lot of crimes have already been solved. The devices are positioned in such a way that they give detailed views. The system also has zoom capabilities to recognise even the smallest details and faces. More cameras are expected to be installed as well.
