A Euronews team visited Veliko Tarnovo in order to film a short video about the old capital. The episode “Tsarevets Fortress: The City of the Tsars” from the “Postcards” section of the multilingual news media emphasizes the historical significance of the old Bulgarian capital, which is defined as a “true national treasure” and a “popular tourist destination”.

A Medieval camp will attract visitors to the miniature park “Mini Bulgaria”
Every Saturday and Sunday, visitors of the “Mini Bulgaria” Park in Veliko Tarnovo will have the opportunity to immerse themselves into Bulgarian history. The Svishtov group for historical reenactments “DUKS Antika” will set up their own camp in the park to acquaint tourists with various crafts and techniques for military training from the Middle Ages.
Medieval camp “Crown and Sword” in June in Tsarevets Fortress
A three day recreation of a medieval camp will be done in the Tsarevets fortress. From June 26th to 28th, residents and guests of the old capital Veliko Tarnovo will get acquainted with the way of life, crafts and arts, cuisine and military skills of Bulgaria, Byzantium and Europe from the period 12 – 14 century. They will be presented during the event Medieval camp “Crown and Sword” in the Tsarevets fortress.
Stage of the Ages Summer Opera Festival once again in Veliko Tarnovo
The historical and spiritual capital of Bulgaria – Veliko Tarnovo invites all music lovers to the 2020 Stage of Ages Summer Opera festival. The first Bulgarian open-air opera forum will mark 35 years since its establishment with a rich program containing a mix between classic Bulgarian and world titles.
