New attractive tourist sights in Veliko Tarnovo region

The Roman water catchment and deep cave near Musina village are the newest touristic attraction in Veliko Tarnovo region

New signs for the Roman water catchment and the Musinska Cave were placed a few days ago on the road between Veliko Tarnovo and Pavlikeni. This is a way to make the sites popular among the tourists.

The impressive construction of the aqueduct was probably built at the beginning of the 2nd century AD and the water pipe to Nicopolis ad Istrum leaves. The facility has long been known for science, but excavation has not yet been done. The catchment itself is located within the village limits, in front of the entrance to the Musinska Cave, from which one of the cleanest and lightest waters in the Pavlikeni area flows. The capture, which is about 1900 years old, still works, and it flows clear and strong water. Over 6% is the growth of visitors to the sites and exhibitions of the Regional Museum of History in Veliko Tarnovo in the past year. The cultural and historical landmarks of the old capital in 2017 are viewed by 440,679 people, of whom 260,575 Bulgarians and 180,107 foreigners, as foreign tourists have increased by 26% compared to 2016. CAMPING SEASON 2017 – Kapinovo Monastery

Campsite Kapinovo Monastery is located at the foot of Elena Balkan next to Kapinovo village. Kapinovo is one of the oldest villages in Veliko Tarnovo region. It has many years long story that began from the time of the Second Bulgarian Kingdom. Back in those time, the village was a feudal ownership of Tarnovo’s kings.
The camping is next to Veselina river shore in Kapinovski monastery “Saint Nikolay Wonderworker” and it is about 20 km away south from the old capital-Veliko Tarnovo city. 5 km from the camp base is placed the beautiful Kapinovski waterfall with crystal clear white cliffs. The area is forest, surrounded by high rocky hills.
