The reconstruction of the Veliko Tarnovo-Arbanasi road is already a fact: the drainage system installation is completed and the sections of the road exposed to landslide processes have been reinforced. The road is now being asphalted and the expectations are the work will be finished by the end of the month when the traffic between Veliko Tarnovo and Arbanasi will be restored as well. Interesting information from North Central Bulgaria

Hello, everyone! Here is short monitoring about interesting news from North Central Bulgaria and specifically Veliko Tarnovo area.

This time of the year starts with many reconstructions works in city Veliko Tarnovo and region.Today starts the stepwise closing of the road to Arbanasi.  If you decide, to visit this traditional village at Veliko Tarnovo area, with many traditional houses, churches, monasteries and traditional restaurants, you will have to go through the village of Sheremetya. Other interesting news from this days, about Veliko Tarnovo, is, that there will be a new organization of tourist’s transportation. Buses of tourist’s companies will stop at tree parking zones, from where people will be transported, to the main sightseeing’s of Veliko Tarnovo.  In general, this will reduce air’s pollution and will make traffic much calmer. Veliko Tarnovo – Arbanasi road closed till the end of August

The planned reconstruction of the Veliko Tarnovo – Arbanasi road starts today (12.07.2016). Recently heavy boulders and mud from the slopes along the road collapsed onto 2 cars prompting authorities to take actions to secure the lot. Road signs will indicate the detour route.

People travelling from VT through Arbanasi to Gorna Oryahovitsa and vice versa should take the road passing through Sheremetya.  Closed for the entire time will be the lot from the water tap at the chine all the way to the fork at Mavrikov Factory. The road is said to be open on the way to the fork at Mavrikov Factory. The road is said to be open on September, 1st.

Arbanasi celebrates Todorovden for the 26th time

Todorovden will be marked for the 26th consecutive time this Saturday (19th March) at Arbanasi. On Todorovden people called Todor and Theodore and likewise have their names celebrated; also according to old traditions many horse races are being organized throughout the country. The festivities will start in the morning in the village square. As usual there will be BBQ and wine stalls, great musical program and lots of fun. Once again the mayor Tosho Krastev, who is also celebrating his Name Day, promises to make all guests feel welcome and enjoy the fete.  The weather forecast is for good weather promising visitors only pleasant emotions. The organizers from the Village Hall and Kaloyan-92 Equestrian Club are ready to meet everyone at Arbanasi for a day filled with excitement and entertainment.
