New anti-epidemic measures in Bulgaria from today

The capacity of night clubs in Bulgaria will be cut in half. Going to discos, piano bars, clubs and other nightclubs is allowed only if the seats are occupied by no more than one person per 2 square meters. This is ordered by the Minister of Health and enters into force on October 23rd.

The Ministry of Health also announced that all close contacts of a confirmed COVID-19 case are subject to a 10-day quarantine, counted from their last contact with the infected person. Isolation for people with a positive test remains 14 days. Patients discharged from the hospital who still have symptoms will also abide by the 14 days quarantine. GPs will decide whether elderly patients over the age of 60 should go to the hospital or can be isolated at home.

In the last 24 hours the newly diagnosed with COVID-19 in Bulgaria are 1 595. The distribution by districts is as follows: Blagoevgrad – 90; Burgas – 41; Varna – 75; Veliko Tarnovo – 19; Vidin – 3; Vratsa – 23; Gabrovo – 20; Dobrich – 14; Kardzhali – 45; Kyustendil – 19; Lovech – 11; Montana – 51; Pazardzhik – 25; Pernik – 35; Pleven – 23; Plovdiv – 140; Razgrad – 30; Ruse – 47; Silistra – 3; Sliven – 37; Smolyan – 13; Sofia region – 48; Sofia city – 549; Stara Zagora – 56; Targovishte – 70; Haskovo – 25; Shumen – 64; Yambol – 19.

At present, 34 930 cases of the new coronavirus have been confirmed in Bulgaria, of which 16 033 are active. 17 833 people were cured with 235 of them registered during the last 24 hours. The patients with proven COVID-19 in hospitals are 1 792 with 112 of them in intensive care. The death toll is 1,064 with 16 deaths in the past 24 hours.
