Masks will be mandatory outdoors in Bulgaria from October 22nd

Masks will become mandatory outdoors in Bulgaria from October 22nd. This was announced by the Minister of Health Prof. Kostadin Angelov. Many doctors and nurses have called for the return of this measure because of the high number of infected each day.

Wearing masks in indoor public places in Bulgaria is mandatory again

The order is expected to be out later today and to clearly explain when and where masks have to be worn. The order will take effect on Thursday. The Minister of Health said that if the measures are strictly observed a reduction in morbidity is expected. Masks outside will be mandatory until the end of November if the situation is as it is now. What is more, from Thursday it is expected that the quarantine will become 10 days rather than the 14 days it is now.

The newly diagnosed people with coronavirus infection in Bulgaria during the last 24 hours are 1 336. The distribution by districts is as follows: Blagoevgrad – 69; Burgas – 78; Varna – 68; Veliko Tarnovo – 13; Vratsa – 12; Gabrovo – 11; Dobrich – 1; Kardzhali – 19; Kyustendil – 12; Lovech – 17; Montana – 15; Pazardzhik – 17; Pernik – 19; Pleven – 26; Plovdiv – 135; Razgrad – 17; Ruse – 50; Silistra – 4; Sliven – 27; Smolyan – 1; Sofia region – 18; Sofia city – 523; Stara Zagora – 67; Targovishte – 56; Haskovo – 15; Shumen – 36; Yambol – 10.

The total number of coronavirus cases in Bulgaria is 31 863. The active cases are 13 430. The cured people are 17 414 with 261 of them registered during the past 24 hours. There are 1 633 patients with proven COVID-19 in hospitals with 93 of them in intensive care. The death toll from the new coronavirus is 1 019 with 11 cases in the past 24 hours.
