As of today, November 4th, all planned admission and operative activity in the medical establishments on the territory of the country will be temporarily suspended. Exceptions are allowed for activities related to transplantation of organs and cells, diagnosis and treatment of patients with oncological and onco hematological diseases, assisted reproduction activities and births, regardless of the method of delivery, rehabilitation activities, long-term treatment and psychiatric care. These measures are stated in an order of the Minister of Health Dr. Stoycho Katsarov, issued yesterday.
The aim is to reduce the pressure on the health system on one hand and on the other hand, it will be possible for unloaded wards to be restructured into COVID units and medical teams to be reassigned to serve patients with COVID-19.
The same order exhaustively lists all documents for vaccination, disease and testing for COVID-19, which in our country are recognized as a “green certificate”. A validity period is indicated for each of the documents.
Tests proving antibodies to the disease are not included in the issuance of a certificate for now, but the measure is being discussed.
Changes in the issuance of a green certificate
We will now receive a green certificate 15 days after the first dose of COVID-19 vaccines. Until now, certificates were issued immediately after the first dose of the two-dosed vaccines. They were valid for the next 21 days until the next dose of the vaccine. This document was valid only on the territory of Bulgaria.
There are other measures that come into force today as well
Visits to medical institutions and homes for children and adults are prohibited.
According to the order, all children’s centers and clubs must be closed. Team building and other organized events are prohibited.
A green certificate will not be required for children under the age of 18 years.
