Two entrepreneurs have studied in Germany to find a new healthy way of providing snacks to their children and the rest of Veliko Tarnovo. They have learned how to transform nuts, seeds, cracked millet and honey into delicious alternatives to wafers and chocolate. Many of the ingredients are sourced locally and provide a great source of energy. The couple studied in a pastry school in Germany which has given them the skills to set up and transform a former bakery and grain store in the village of Musina. They are adamant that all of the ingredients are natural and the new health bars don’t contain any glucose or other additives to sweeten or bind the mixture. Other natural ingredients include pistachios, cranberries, almonds, apple, pecan and plum. They have chosen their current location as it is more cost effective to produce the new healthy bars in Musina rather than in the centre of Veliko Tarnovo. Similar foods are already produced or imported into Veliko Tarnovo, but this has a negative effect on cost and guarantee about the source of ingredients.
