Preparations for the traditional Christmas bazaar in Veliko Tarnovo have started. The bazaar will be held from 29th November till 31st December in Marno Pole Park just like any year. On the main alley, there will be 25 wooden houses offering a variety of Christmas themed treats and gifts.
In the spirit of Christmas, the organizers have provided wooden houses offering Bulgarian goods, traditional souvenirs and hand-made gifts amongst other things. There will be a Christmas post where all kids can send their letters to Santa Claus. Another part of the bazaar will be aimed at those who want to try different treats, sweets, sweet bread chimneys or try mulled wine and traditional grilled goodies.
The organization Friends of Animals VT will also have a house there so be sure to stop by and take part in their donation campaign. You can donate cash, food, blankets, bedding and toys for stray animals as well as buy lovely calendars and other things with the rescued animals from the past year.
The Christmas bazaar will be open every day from 10:00 to 20:00h for the period 29.11-31.12 2019. Every Saturday and Sunday in December there will be performances by young singers from Veliko Tarnovo on the specially constructed stage as well as dances and other performances. During the month of December, there will also be 3 shows of the beautiful audio-visual spectacle Tsarvgrad Turnov Sound and Light – on 8th, 25th and 30th at 19.00h. at Tsar Asen I Square.

All of the beautiful lights, decorations and overall feel make it the perfect place to take a stroll and why not even get some Christmas shopping done with all of the great gifts and tempting treats there. Who knows we might even get some snow till then for a beautiful White Christmas.
