Through various campaigns and online auctions, Friends of Animals VT Foundation raises funds for stray cats and dogs in the city and the region. However, the need to find volunteers as foster families for injured animals is most urgent at the moment.
The foundation needs foster homes because they take care of many injured and sick animals, which after their treatment in a clinic have to recover somewhere. So if you are a person who doesn’t have the opportunity to take care of a kitten or a dog full time, but can spare a week or two to help an animal in need then maybe consider volunteering. Or if you want to adopt a pet but are scared if you’re up for the responsibility, starting off as a foster parent is a good way to ease into it.
Friends of Animals VT will provide food, supplies and medicines for the injured animals that are placed in a foster home. Temporary owners are required to pay attention to the animal in their care, to play with it and of course take good care of it until the foundation finds a permanent home for the animal.
If this sounds like too much of a commitment consider helping Friends of Animals VT with food, medicine, supplies or monetary donations. You can donate in a variety of veterinary clinics and pets stores in Veliko Tarnovo where donation boxes have been placed. You can also contact them on their Facebook page to see how you can volunteer, donate or help in any way.
