Over 1000 purebred animals – sheep, goats, dogs and horses, will be shown at the upcoming National Festival of Sheep Breeders. The ninth edition of the largest industry event in Bulgaria will be held from 18 to 20 June near the Petropavlovski Monastery near Lyaskovets.

Two concerts dedicated to May 24 will be performed by the Veliko Tarnovo Theater in the Lapidarium
Two concerts dedicated to the Day of Bulgarian Education and Culture will be performed by the team of the Veliko Tarnovo Theater on the open stage in the Lapidarium of the Archaeological Museum in the old capital. On May 25th and May 27th, the audience will be able to enjoy the performances of soloists and musicians from the Music and Drama Theater “Konstantin Kisimov”, presented among the natural decor of statues and columns from the Roman era.

A medieval camp at the Trapezitsa fortress will mark the beginning of the active summer tourist season in Veliko Tarnovo. The historical reconstructions will take place on May 22nd from 10:00 to 18:00 at the second fortress of medieval Tarnovgrad. They will include reconstructions of everyday life, crafts, military skills and more from the XII-XIV centuries. Visitors will be able to get acquainted with glorious moments of the Bulgarian history in an authentic environment, according to the organizers.
Opera under the summer sky – “Stage of the Ages” at the Tsarevets Fortress
From July 3rd to September 10th, 2021 the most emblematic cultural event of Veliko Tarnovo – the summer opera festival “Stage of the Ages” will take place. Titles of operas from Stara Zagora, Varna, Sofia, Ruse, Vratsa, Plovdiv and the Konstantin Kisimov Music and Drama Theater – Veliko Tarnovo will be presented on an open stage in the Palace of the Bulgarian Kings – the Tsarevets Fortress.
The kinetic art installation “Merger – Confluence” by the popular visual artist Hristo Gelov will transform Veliko Tarnovo this spring. The famous artist, who turned the crosswalks in Spain into colorful rugs and decorated a bridge in Sweden as a “Lego” toy, will transform some of the open spaces in his hometown for the first time.
