A feast under the slogan „No one is bigger than bread“ will take place on July, 5th in Resen, a village in Veliko Tarnovo Municipality. The event is organized by the local authorities, community centre and pensioner’s club. The celebration day will feature two contests – for best dough-made product and best folk song performer.
Folk musical groups from Ruse, Gabrovo, Resen, Mindya, Tserova Koriya and many more place will take part in the singing contest. The participant in the culinary competition will present their ritual breads, banitsi, mekitsi, buhti and other dough-made products in the foyer of the community centre.
Kids will learn to knead dough under the guidance of skilled women from the village. Veliko Tarnovo’s Bread house will also be present at the event. Everyone who visit Resen will be able to try tasty mekitsi prepared according to authentic Resen recipe and sweet boiled wheat. The feast starts at 10 am in front of the Community centre.
