Tomorrow, August 6, Thursday, from 9 pm world-famous jazz musicians will gather in a quartet to entertain the citizens and guest of Veliko Tarnovo – the venue being Asenevtsi Monument. The famous Bulgarian jazz drummer Dimitar Dimitrov is the initiator of the quartet. The other three musicians are Matt B. Marantz – saxophone, who has performed with the likes of Terence Blanchard, Herbie Hancock, Jack DeJohnette and Jason Moran.; Alex Goodman – guitar, who won the award for best guitarist in Montreux last summer and his last album was nominated for a Grammy award and Georgi Georgiev – bass. For the last 20 years he’s been living and performing in the US. Before he left Bulgaria, he was a bass teacher and lecturer in jazz history lecturer at the National Academy of Music and New Bulgaria University. Dimitar Dimitrov himself is one of the prime European drummers who divides his time between the US and Bulgaria and has worked with a number of international stars including Randy Brecker and Michel Legrand. Admission to the concert is free.
