A free pedestrian tour, traditional exhibition, horo and many more in Veliko Tarnovo for the National Holiday on the 3rd of March. The celebration of the National holiday of Bulgaria in Veliko Tarnovo will begin with a military ritual at 10.30 in front of the building of the municipality. The mayor eng. Daniel Panov will give a festive speech and he will give the Academic Award March 3rd to a cadet from the National Military University.
The students from the “Vasil Drumev” Natural-Mathematical High School have prepared a literary and musical composition. It is titled “3rd March – Day of Bulgarian Dignity and Memory”. At 11 o’clock in front of the monument “Mother Bulgaria” there will be a festive blessing. There will be a military ritual, placing of wreaths and flowers and a festive horo lead by the dancers from DUFA “Bulgarche”. The traditional exhibition “Weapons and Documents of the Russian-Turkish War of Liberation 1877-1878”, organized by the Tradition Club, will be arranged in front of the monument. The audio-visual spectacle “Tsarevgrad Turnov – sound and light” will be played at 20:00 on the holiday evening.
The Regional Museum of History in Veliko Tarnovo also has a surprise organized for guests and visitors of the city on the 3rd of March – a free pedestrian tour with a talk “They perished for our freedom”. The tour will be in historical places related to the national liberation movement, the Russian-Turkish war and the restoration of the Bulgarian statehood. The main focus will be the 140th Anniversary of the Constituent Assembly and the adoption of the Tarnovo Constitution.
The pedestrian tour will start at 10.00 from “Saedinenie” Square in front of the museum Revival and Constituent Assembly (Възраждане и Учредително Събрание) and tour guides will be Svetla Yordanova, Dimitar Dimitrov and Penka Vitkova. The route will start from the Revival and Constituent Assembly museum, then the Prison Museum, The Sarafkina House Museum, historic places along Gurko street and finally the Mother Bulgaria Monument. The participants in the pedestrian tour will be admitted free of charge in the museums.
