The festival will be held for the fourth consecutive year in the village of Balvan near Veliko Tarnovo. This time, it will take place on August 31st, Saturday from 9.30 am and will be called “The Banitsa on weekdays and holidays”. Around 20 people from all over the country have signed up to participate with the traditional Bulgarian delicacy and in the folklore program.

Antique festival “Nike – the game and the victory” near Veliko Tarnovo
The festival is traditionally held in the Nicopolis ad Istrum Archaeological Reserve near Veliko Tarnovo. It is the only one of its kind, dedicated to the late Antiquity, and has been held on the territory of Veliko Tarnovo for three consecutive years. This year the festival will be on July 13, Saturday at 10.00 am.
The Middle Ages come to life in the Tsarevets fortress in Veliko Tarnovo
The Tsarevets fortress in Veliko Tarnovo will become a natural decor for the 5th International Festival “Medieval Tarnovgrad”. From 28th to 30th June, the arts, crafts, military skills of Bulgaria, Byzantium and Europe of the XII-XIV century will come to life on the historic hill. Over 140 participants from Bulgaria, Italy, Romania, Serbia and Ukraine will take part in the spectacular re-enactments.
Eighth National Festival of Sheep Breeders near Veliko Tarnovo
More than 200 exhibitors will arrive for the 8th edition of the National Festival of Sheep Breeders near Veliko Tarnovo. Traditionally, it is held near the Petropavlovski Monastery and this year it will be from 10 to 12 May. The motto of the festival is “Bulgarian foods from Bulgarian raw materials”. The fair will unfold on a terrain of 140 acres with two scenes, over 5 500 sq. m. exhibition halls, a tent of 1 300 sq.m. for the presentation of different types of sheep and goats, a field for horse racing, exhibition areas, and more.
