July Morning is a hippie-influenced fest that started in 1972. The name of the event is closely related to Uriah Heep’s hit July Morning which was widely popular in Bulgaria at the time. It’s a unique fest that exists only in this country. Groups of people gather on the eve of July, 1st, usually at the beach, and stay up all night to meet the first Sun rays on the first day of July. They start fires, share drinks and play music while they wait for the sunrise. Although there are a number of versions at to what this tradition signifies, most people consider July Morning a celebration of the new beginning and the freedom of the spirit. Britos Brewery is celebrating its third birthday with Britos Summer Fest

britosOn 5th, 6th and 7th June Veliko Tarnovo will mark the third birthday of Britos Brewery with a large fest. A variety of interesting events will be organized during the three days with the venues being Asenevtsi Monument, Druzhba Park and Ivaylo Town Stadium. The organizers of the Summer Fest are hoping that over the years it will establish itself as traditional for Veliko Tarnovo and it will be celebrated every year at the beginning of June.

The 3-day festive programme includes a number of games and competitions, streetball and volleyball tournaments, beach tennis, dance lessons and lots more (Saturday and Sunday, Druzhba Park, between 11 am and 6 pm) . Continue Reading
