The picturesque village of Mindya is less than 30 minutes away from the old capital Veliko Tarnovo. Mindya Rock Fest is the most popular FREE Rock and Blues Fest in Bulgaria, also called “The Bulgarian Woodstock“. The event is taking place on the last Friday and Saturday of the month – 25th and 26th of August. This will be the ninth annual edition since 2009. It is organized by the notable political commentator Evgeni Daynov who owns a house in the village.
The festival is offering a selection of great quality music, arts, crafts, food and other entertainments you will definitely enjoy! The sponsors have thought of everything, including camping areas for the all the guests with tents and caravans. Everything is spot on!
The Foundation of the Fest
At first, the idea of creating a free rock festival was supported by an English couple, living in the village and a few more people from Veliko Tarnovo. The main purpose of the village back then was to become a part of the cultural map of Bulgaria and to attract more and more artists and fans. The festival becomes a cultural event that gathers together different arts, crafts, good music and people, of course!

The program
Some of the rock and blues bands this year are Slippers, Old Guns, Miskinite, Delta Roosters and Cotton Pickers, Restart, Masters, Double Bit, Blues Traffic and Vasko Krapkata (Vasko the Patch) with Poduene Blues Band.
