On the 24th of June the Samovodska charshia in Veliko Tarnovo will welcome visitors for Enyovden celebrations for 12th year in a row. This is day of summer solstice, herbal remedies and ancient magic rituals. The festive days starts at 10.30 am on Wednesday with the traditional passing through a wreath which has 77 herbs intertwined in it. This is done following the ancient rituals and is said to bring good health. Traditional Bulgarian folk songs will also be performed during the opening hour.

21st of June – The International Yoga Day – will be marked in the town of Veliko Tarnovo, Gabrovo, Sofia, Plovdiv, Svilengrad, Burgas, Varna, Ruse and Pernik.
Veliko Tarnovo will join the initiative with a number of events. Druzhba Park (in the town centre) and Kolyo Ficheto Park (in the neighbourhood of Kolyo Ficheto/Triagalnika) will host many yoga classes throughout the day; everyone is invited to join at any time. Lectures on the ancient old practice will be read at the New Sports Hall near Billa store at the roundabout.
Uniworld has included Veliko Tarnovo in its programme
Uniworld – the world’s only authentic boutique cruise line, offering the highest standards in luxury river cruising – has now included Veliko Tarnovo and Arbanasi in its programme. The first luxury river cruise ship, River Princess, sets off at the beginning of July; a week later its passengers will embark in Ruse. From there they will be transferred to Veliko Tarnovo and Arbanasi where tourists will visit historical sites and museums and will taste authentic dishes from the Second Bulgarian Kingdom in a local restaurant. After that they will be returning to their ship to continue with their cruise.
Moto Rock Fest Veliko Tarnovo 2015 welcomes guests from 10 countries
More than 4000 bikers from Bulgaria and 9 more countries will gather for the ninth annual Moto Rock Fest in Veliko Tarnovo; it will take place from 9th till 12th July. Rock fans from Romania, Serbia, Macedonia, Greece, Turkey, Holland, Norway, Germany and Austria will join this year’s edition of the fest.
The Veliko Tarnovo village of Nikyup won a state funding of 9,668 lv to be used for the building of a new sports ground. According to the Mayor of the village, Yordanka Atanasova, it will feature a table tennis table, a small basketball court and a small football pitch, chess board table. The fencing of the new sports field is already set up.
In her words the hottest topic for the locals these days is the news that Hemus Highway will pass very close to Nikyup; people have high hopes that the village will have its revival and it will attract many investors.
